(Togo First) - In Togo, the operations to collect road use fees on the developed site of the "PK17" on the National No. 5 (Lomé-Kpalimé), are temporarily suspended because of the work in progress on this section. This is what indicated this Monday, February 14, 2022, the Ministry of Public Works in a statement.

The public authority explains that "due to the rehabilitation and asphalting works of the Lomé-Kpalimé road and the construction of the toll booth of Aképé or PK17, the operations of collecting the rights of use of the road for the circumstance are temporarily suspended. "

Pending the construction of a new modern toll booth of Aképé (at PK17) at the end of the work, a new temporary toll platform will be built at the former toll site of Zanguéra, to allow the Autonomous Company of Financing and Road Maintenance (SAFER) to resume in a short time, these collection operations.

It should be noted that last year, tax collection operations were also suspended (from March to May 2021), due to the rehabilitation and asphalting of this section, which forced the demolition of the Zanguéra toll booth.
